Her father had passed away and my house was burned beyond repair.

Friday, February 13, 2009 -I left my home in Gulfport, MS around 4pm on a three hour drive to Alabama. My best friend, Darryn, was with me and we had to attend a Board meeting at 8pm that night, and a Membership meeting the next morning. Mary Martha, my girlfriend who lives with me, was at her father's house in Ocean Springs, MS. Her father was 92 years old and on his death bed, she was staying with him till he passed. There are no phones where I was staying, in Alabama, and cell service is limited. Around 11:30 pm a fellow member of our club, who lives in the area, came by and woke us up. He explained that I needed to get home because I had a fire at home and there was a hole in my roof. My buddy and I drove around and found cell service. I was able to get in touch with Mary Martha and she filled me in. Her father had passed away and my house was burned beyond repair. We made the trip back to Gulfport safely. The Red Cross set us up with a place to stay and provided us with money for meals for the weekend. They also gave us a debit card for clothes and necessities purchases. My insurance company ended up declaring the house a total loss. Mary Martha's family offered us to stay in her father's house until we figured out all of our requirements in dealing with the insurance company. We ended up renting her father's house from the estate of the family, while our new house was under construction. Our next step, after demolishing the old house, was to decide on a house plan and get quotes from builders. After weeks of internet and local building store searches, we finally decided on a house plan that best meet our needs and wants. We found a certain house plan and you can imagine how surprised we were when the plans came in and we saw that they originated from Hattiesburg, MS. Darryn called me and told me he had bumped into a friend of ours that we had gone to high school and played baseball with. That friend was Johnny Willis and he was a building contractor. I called Johnny and about four other contractors and got bids for building my new home. After alot of discussions and visits to view some of the work completed and in progress, I decided on Mr. Willis. Johnny also did his own framing, this made it easy to make adjustments without having to get the plans re-drawn. Johnny stated he would have it finished in 90-120 days. He started in May of 2009, and even with the MAJOR changes, that effect building in the City of Gulfport by the Code Office and FEMA regulations, due to Hurricane Katrina. He was able to complete the project inside the alotted time frame. And in September of 2009, we moved in and became the happy owners of a beautiful home. We smile everytime we pull in the driveway!

Living in this new home has been the best thing for me and my family. I have been in the military for 17 years, and this is the first place that we can call ours and home at the same time. While I was deployed, my wife built the house and dealt with the contractors and picked the paint, stone, brick, vinyl, applicances, tile and hardwood floors. She is the best military wife there is! We extended the master bedroom out about 2 feet and streched our shower and her vanity to fit the new space. The kids love bringing friends over and playing in the bonus room and we love it also...love having the kids close and safe. We also had extra insulation blown in the attic and cannot hear the kids jamming out to Rock Band Hero or any of the military games. We love the design of the floorplan and the openess of the kitchen, living room and breakfast area, and it was so much fun seeing pictures of our house being built when i was in Iraq. I was showing off the pictures like it was a new baby! It's a solid, well designed house and we would build again if need be. Please thank your design team and let them know that there is a family in Lower Alabama that smiles everytime we pull in the driveway and when we have friends over for the first time. Thank you!

Thanks for allowing us to use your plan and we would highly recommend your company to anyone interested!

I grew up in the western part of North Carolina and left home after graduating from high school. My job moved me around for several years and my family and I finally settled down in Charlotte, NC and eventually I started my own business there. I always had a desire to return to my roots and build a home back there for when I retired. I had been single for a few years and upon returning home for a school reunion in 2008, I met an old friend that I had not seen in over 30 years. She had retired and moved "back home" the end of 2007. We started dating and before long we realized we were meant to be together. That is when I got busy on house plans. I looked at "many" house plans, but kept going back to this particular one of yours. We both agreed this was the perfect one. It had plenty of open space and was laid out just the way we wanted. We like the master bedroom with the large bath and walk-in closet (which we changed to one big closet instead of his and hers)and the other bedrooms on the other end of the house. My favorite parts of this house plan are the open space in the living area, and the really functional floorplan layout. It fits our needs perfectly... We started clearing the land in February, 2009, and we were married in March. We had a very good builder and things just fell right into place. All the lumber in the house came off my land. We made a few minor changes, such as extending the front bedroom out and the porch a few feet wider. The plans were so easily followed, the builder had no problem at all. We made the 3 1/2 hour trip weekly from Charlotte to help work on the house. On December 23, 2009, we moved in and spent our first Christmas together in our dream house. The house sits upon a hill that overlooks the Smokey Mountains and we can see as far as Tennessee. I am retiring soon and we look forward to sitting on our porch and enjoying the view and our new home. Thanks for allowing us to use your plan and we would highly recommend your company to anyone interested!

You have been excellent to work with!

You have been excellent to work with. I'll have to admit, we've never done this before, much less working with someone online, but you far exceeded our expectations! We are so excited about getting started on our house. The Lord has really blessed us to be able to this and we give Him all the thanks.I will send you pics of the house once we have completed if you like. Take care and thanks again!!

We still feel the excitement every time we unlock the door...

We purchased a beautiful country lot on May 8th 2009, and our home was completed February 8th, 2010. As we watched the house being built I kept telling my husband to ""pinch me"" this has to be a dream. We named our home CASA BELLA meaning house beautiful. We moved in February 19th, 2010, and we still feel the excitement every time we unlock the door... We would definately recommend this designer to anyone...
