We are so blessed! It is gorgeous!
After some financial difficulties that began in 2002 we were finally about to save up enough money to build a home. In 2009 we began to build on a lot that our family had given to us. In February of 2010 we were able to move into our Country Craftsman Style house! We are so blessed! It is gorgeous!
The house that we were renting was sold, and in the process of looking for a pre-built home to buy, we couldn't find anything we liked. We then decided to build a new one. My husband and I, along with family and friends, have built this home from the ground up. It has taken a lot longer than we anticipated, but this is one family project we will never forget. I love everything about the house. The bedrooms are all a nice size. The kitchen is great and has turned out to be my favorite part of the house. After deciding to build the house, we built the shell of the home out of beetle kill pine logs. Since our family business is logging, it seemed like the most economical thing to do. After picking out and measuring every single log, we peeled them by hand. My husband and my father then carved every notch with a chainsaw or by hand. After several months the shell was complete. We then finished the roof and the internal walls with regular framing materials. Almost all of the finishing lumber inside the house came from my uncle's sawmill. My husband is making all cupboards and vanities out of the beetle kill pine. This is also a very long process, but they look great with the rest of the house. The house is not quite done yet. We started building in May of 2009 and will be complete by May of 2010. This sounds like a long time, but since we only work one to two days a week on it, but I think we are making good progress. We're very happy with the way our home is turning out and would DEFINITELY recommend this designer to anyone...
We had over $1,400,000 debt, and could have legally taken bankruptcy...
We owned a commercial roofing company and a trucking business that grew too fast. Poor decisions, and other circumstances contributed to the problems. Jerry's Dad, his business partner, got sick and died. After an audit we realized we were losing thousands of dollars a month. We had over $1,400,000 debt, and could have legally taken bankruptcy, but we believed that we should sell everything we could and pay back our debts. We had a nice 1926 AC ranchette home that was free and clear as well as having lots of other assets, such as cars, trucks, horses, cattle, etc. We sold everything but 1 horse, and our furniture, and we moved in with Jerry's mother who helped us with some of the debt. We actually got all the way down to having only $100 and driving a borrowed car, but we had peace! Jerry's mother gave us some land and we bought a mobile home, initially. Jerry worked hard at any job he could find. Donna went back to school, got her real estate license after 30 years as a stay-at-home wife and mother, and went to work. Over the next few years, with God's help and grace, we gradually paid back all the debt, began to save, and dreamed of building a house on our land. In 2009, we began to build and placed a Bible in our slab as a reminder of who helped us get out of our dire circumstances. We moved into our new wonderful, Country Craftsman style house in Feb 2010 and felt so blessed and restored. It is gorgeous! We made just a few modifications to the home including taking the pantry/closet out to make the dining room area larger with a nook for our antique buffet. We also omitted the stairwell (no upstairs) and made a huge pantry. We also put an outdoor fireplace on the patio and have really been enjoying it. Finally, our favorite features of this beautiful home are the Country Craftsman Style, tall ceilings, split bedrooms, big closets, two dining areas, covered patio, and the big front porch. We would definitely recommend this designer for anyone looking for a beautiful design with a floorplan that absolutely minimizes wasted space. Highly recommended!

Everyday, we realize how fortunate we are to live in this beautiful home...
Soon after my husband and I were married, we knew we were going to need a bigger house. I began looking at houseplans on the internet and must have looked at hundreds over 6 months or more. We finally decided that a certain home design would work best for our family and the land it would be sitting on. Our house sits on the former land of my parents right across from their house, located in a rural area. I wanted our house to look like a modern country home. The front and back porched remind me of my grandparents homes which were only a few miles from ours. The interior of our home has changed our lives because it provides both parents and children their privacy by separating the bedrooms on either end of the house. In our previous house, the bedrooms were so close together that we could hear everything from room to room as if the doors were open. The kitchen and livingroom of of our other house were separated and left the cook (me) feeling isolated and left out. Now the only thing separating the areas are two two 2-foot partial walls where the flooring changes. The garage is very spacious and we have so much potential storage area off the bonus room that we will never need it all. Speaking of the bonus room, we are using it as a home gym and gameroom which my husband and kids absolutely love. There are so many features that we love it's hard to name just a few. We love the front and back porches. We recently had a patio put in off the back porch and we love it. On the inside, I love the split bedroom design because it gives me and my husband some much needed privacy. The open kitchen and livingroom design keeps the family together during the day. We put a bedroom in the flex space which will easily be changed into an office as the children leave home. We have only 3 left living with us now. I modified the masterbath by reversing the toilet room with a jetted tub/shower and took out the shower stall. It gave us tons on room for cabinets. We also modified the exterior/front where the garage is. We also added a mudroom in the garage where we put a sink and toilet so that my husband would have it handy when he was working in his detached garage. I cannot end the story of our home without mentioning our wonderful builder. He helped us save so much money by letting us be the co-contractors. All along the way he tried to get us the best deals on supplies and let me pay all the suppliers early inorder to get discounts. We also did all of the interior painting and caulking to save money. Our home is worth approximately $50,000 more than it costs us, according to an unofficial appraisal. Everyday, we realize how fortunate we are to live in this beautiful home. It all started with the designer's plans, which arrived only 3 days after I ordered them. Thank you for improving our quality of life and giving us the home of our dreams.
It's a beautiful bungalow style home, all on one level with a fabulous master suite, a large great room, two covered porches and two additional bedrooms as well as attached two car garage.
I bought this house plan with the intent to build a future "retirement" home in Port Townsend, a seaside community on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. It's a beautiful bungalow style home, all on one level with a fabulous master suite, a large great room, two covered porches and two additional bedrooms as well as attached two car garage. I especially liked this plan because of the varied roof line which gives it fabulous curb appeal and the great room which makes it feel a lot bigger than it's 1500 square feet. Some of my favorite features are that it has two covered porches, a large and luxurious master suite, and it is all one one level. The home is built on a level and private wooded lot, 2 blocks from the beach and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. In the morning, the sun shines down through the trees onto the back porch and you can sit there sipping your coffee and watch the very tame deer wander through the forest and right up to the house. We painted the house in a combination of forest green, tan, and off white trim with a dark cherry stain on the front door. It looks perfect in the woods and makes a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I would definately recommend this designer to anyone looking for a new home...
If you need house plans, I would definitely recommend this designer..
We looked for months and fell in love this house plan. After our purchase of the plans from this designer, we made a few minor modifications to suit our special tastes. The modifications were a breeze. We truly enjoyed working with the plans and our builder. The plans have all the different elevation drawings so you can compare the house to the design. It is amazing how much the real house looks like the drawings and sketches. Some of our favorite features of this home design is the big dining area, the open floor plan, seperate sleeping areas, large bonus room, and double garage. The designer's house plans were easy to read, detailed, and provided a great value and lots of fun for us. If you need house plans, I would definately recommend this designer.
It was a wonderful experience and we would heartily recommend your company and home plans to anyone out there!
Our story is one that is 20 years in the making. We relocated to Tennessee and purchased our first home which was approximately 1300 sq. feet. While this was adequate for my wife and I, we knew that eventually we would want to build something to suit our particular needs and lifestyle. Over the years, we put together lists of likes and dislikes. We also spent a lot of time touring homes, looking at house plan magazines and online sites, as well as studying local housing designs and trends. When considering house plans and designs, we always kept in mind our needs as a growing/changing family. Our first home was a cookie-cutter, two story, Cape Cod style, with the master on the first floor and the others on the second floor. We quickly realized the inconvenience and safety concerns of this design after our first child was born. When we had our second child, our desire to find a more family-friendly house plan became our number one priority. Fortunately for us, the website was one of the first sites we accessed. We found the website extremely easy to use and the search options gave us the opportunity to look for the specific features we were hoping to find. We found that with a certain plan. This particular house plan offered one-level living with zoned bedrooms which provided optimal living for our diverse schedules. We were very impressed with each room’s square footage. The extra bedrooms have ample living and closet space. The master suite is a wonderful retreat since it is located away from the primary living area of the home. The master bathroom is extremely spacious with a jetted tub and walk-in tiled shower. There are his and her separate vanities offering much storage and counter space. Additionally, the two separate walk-in closets provide all of the storage and hanging room anyone would ever need. The kitchen was wide enough for an island which was one of our most sought after features. It is now the hub of our kitchen and allows us to maneuver easily when preparing meals and cleaning up. The corner pantry is conveniently located and large enough to store all of our food items and then some! Because of the kitchen’s ample space, we were able to install both a gas cook-top and double electric wall ovens. The laundry room with utility sink is an area that definitely suits our needs. With the inclusion of a large bonus room, our family is able to utilize the space for many things. It is truly a multi-purpose room. It is where our children store and play with most of their toys. There is also a built-in area for a projector television screen that we can use to watch movies and sporting events. Off of the bonus room, we were able to add an additional room that can be utilized for many different things. This house’s layout is very fluid which allows you to easily and efficiently flow from one room to the next. The interior is wonderfully bathed in natural light from the many large windows situated in optimal areas around the house. While the interior of this home is fantastic in and of itself, it wasn’t the only reason we went with this particular house plan. The exterior of the home is exactly the style we were drawn to. The French Country architectural style is very appealing and this house holds true to those characteristics. The roof pitches, gables, dormers, and arched entryway aesthetically accentuate the French Countryside look. We also selected brick, soffit, gutters/downspouts, doors, and shutters in colors and styles that compliment the house’s design. We definitely achieved the look and feel we were dreaming of inside and outside our home. We love everything about this house plan! Some of our favorite features include: every square foot is utilized efficiently (no wasted space); one-level living with zoned bedrooms; an abundance of storage; eat-in kitchen large enough to accommodate a center island; and charming architecture. Thank you so much for providing this house plan that so fully met our needs. We also would like to compliment you on the customer service you provided to us on the purchasing of our plan. It was a wonderful experience and we would heartily recommend your company and home plans to anyone out there.
Thank you for making our home building experience the very best it could ever be!
Seven months ago, I purchased these plans for my dream home online. We were ready to move from the city and build something for our active family. We lived in a suburban track home for 13 years before deciding to build in the country. After several months of pouring over floor plans, I was able to narrow it down to just this one. We bought an acre of land in the country and proceeded to build on our lot. I told everyone that I wanted to enjoy the experience of building our home, and I truly did. I had so much fun picking everything from the floor plan to fixtures, granite and ceiling fans. Some of my favorite features of this plan are that there is absolutely no wasted space. I also love my closets, pantry and porches. I also like the breakfast bar. It is definitely my dream home. The house plan that I chose is a one-story house, four bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths with a game room over the garage. We chose to build it with brick and a touch of Austin limestone. The inside is lovely in shades of green, tan and brown. Everyone who visits says they feel right at home the second they enter. We had our first family get-together on Easter weekend, and I can't tell you how wonderful it was having a home like this to share with our family and friends. After dining inside, we all moved into the yard and enjoyed watching the little ones hunt Easter eggs in the backyard. Thank you for making our home building experience the very best it could ever be!
The best thing about my house is that people drive by all the time and they yell out to me, "I love your house!"
I purchased some land in North Carolina in 1996 and had planned to build a house with plans I had gotten from the internet. My plans to build this house did not happen, as the seller of the land did not fulfill the agreement. I carried those house plans with me for years and when I decided to retire in 2010. I started researching the internet again in 2009 and found that my plan no longer existed. Then I found the perfect plan. I loved the design, especially the big windows in the front of the house. Inside the house I loved the split floor plan and the open feel of the living room with the 12 foot ceilings. The huge kitchen was also a plus for me as I love to entertain! This house has all the bedrooms on the first level which is great for someone my age. This house has changed my life a lot as I have a spacious yard which I have been busy fixing up. My plans is to use my house to bring my extended family closer by having plenty of space to have family functions. I spent more than 40 years out of the state and wanted to get closer to home in order to spend my final years getting to know my extended family better. The best thing about my house is that people drive by all the time and they yell out to me, "I love your house!" and I yell back, "so do I." I am so proud that I had this house built and that you provided such a beautiful plan that will be in style for years to come...
