Beautiful versatile plan with 3-4 bedrooms, 2 ½ to 3 ½ baths and a 3 car garage. Open, split bedroom plan, with large bedrooms. Master suite has an office/lounge, jet tub, large walk-in shower, large walk-in closet, and a privacy porch. Great room has a 12’ raised ceiling and a fireplace. We love that there is no wasted space!
We just finished our home. We converted the base plan into a second story! Pecan staircase and loft bedroom and full bath upstairs. We love it! And we love that there is no wasted space!
The open floor plan is ideal for being able to cook, and visit, and watch television all at the same time...
I was born and raised in the country. One day, I got to thinking life might be simpler if I live in town, closer to everything and a smaller yard. So, we sold and moved to town. Boy, was I wrong. After 4 years, (and a death in our family), we sold our home in town and decided to go back to our roots, out in the country, to live close to Grandma after Grandpa passed away in July 2009. So, we began searching the internet and bought several books of house plans. Nothing. We went back to the internet and just so happened to find this plan. We were excited. It was perfect. The open floor plan, the porches, the media room, we could not have designed a plan better ourselves. We ordered the plan and got busy. We even decided to serve as our own contractor and build the house ourselves. It has been a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. This house is more roomy that I ever thought 1853 square feet could be, especially coming from a 2600 square foot house prior to this one. The open floor plan is ideal for being able to cook, and visit, and watch television all at the same time... Thank you for giving us the opportunity, and inspiration, to come back to our roots and helping us build the house we have always dreamed of having.
Thanks for helping us find and build our dream home!!
We have lived in our current two bedroom, one bath, 988 square foot home for 12 years. Since we moved in, we've subsequently had 2 children. Making it a little cramped to say the least. So we started looking at other homes. Not much caught our eye in our small town, so we looked into a quality modular home, but they only have so many options available. That's when we came across your site and my wife fell in love witha certain plan. We started in May of 2009 with 1.17 acres on the edge of town, and I went about excavating some trees and brush from the property with the help of some friends and a bulldozer. Once we decided where to place the home on the lot, we started digging for the basement. We did all of the digging and tile drainage ourselves, and basically whatever else we could do for ourselves to save money. We then hired a contractor to pour the footers and basement for us. Once that was completed, we installed our steel support beams and posts. And finally we hired a contractor to construct the home, as per the blueprints supplied to us from the designer. The contractor has done an excellent job, and we have been able to do alot of the inside work ourselves to save money, like insulate, hang drywall, install doors, etc. The house is shaping up nicely, and we are at the "mudding of the drywall" stage now and hope to complete the home in the next month. Our kids are so excited to have their own room. We will have 3200 square ft of living space. We won't know what to do with ourselves. Thanks guys for helping us find and build our dream home!!
It was so close to what I would have designed myself.
I began looking for house plans in the fall of 2006. My husband and I had just sold our home to move in and take care of my recently widowed Mother. Our youngest son was in college and also still living at home. We sold many of our things and put the rest in storage. We were living in my childhood home. We all knew we needed a layout to accommodate our new family dynamic. We were fortunate that my late father had purchased some land years before and the area was perfect for a new home. We are in a restricted, large acre lot with extra wooded acreage behind the home site. My husband and I were looking for a home that would provide the needed space for my mother, the space for a college student, as well as the place we would enjoy retiring to. I began searching home plans on the Internet. I found many plans but always came back to one of the first plans we found. I was looking for a split design, a large open living space and a bonus room. We found a perfect plan. It reminded me of a traditional home with a slight French style. It was so close to what I would have designed myself. The two bedrooms on one end serve as my mother’s quarters. We did increase the size of her rooms by extending the length of the house by one foot. One room used for a sitting room and the other for her bedroom with a bath in between. This provides her with her own space without making her feel isolated. The large window with the transom on the front gives her a great deal of light and she does not feel she is sitting in a bedroom all day. In the far away future it will serve as two guest rooms and a private bath. The openness of the living room, kitchen, breakfast nook and dining room is perfect for our extended families. Now that my mother is living with me, we are usually the home where many of the family gatherings take place. We can be in the adjoining rooms but all feel we are together. We changed the three large windows in the living room to a sliding glass door opening out to the porch. We also had the porch screened in and an additional cement patio poured out from the house. This gives even more gathering and entertaining space. The master bedroom and bath are perfect for us. Being on the opposite end of the house ensures privacy and the spaciousness gives us the option of a sitting and TV area in our room. We did rearrange the master bath to accommodate a little larger shower and a larger tub but we still have the water closet and double sinks, which we love. The laundry room is huge and we opted to leave out the half bath and put a built in office space where the bath and closet were on the plan. This opens the space even more. One reason we felt comfortable giving up the half bath is because we opted for the full bath in the bonus room over the garage. We finished this room and it was a perfect hideaway and bedroom for our college-aged son. He recently purchased his own home and now our grandchildren are thrilled with our bonus playroom and their own bath. We opted for a slab foundation and vinyl siding. We are very happy with this home. We moved in our home in July of 2007. We look forward to many more years in this wonderful home!
Thanks for allowing us to use your plan and we would highly recommend your company to anyone interested!
I grew up in the western part of North Carolina and left home after graduating from high school. My job moved me around for several years and my family and I finally settled down in Charlotte, NC and eventually I started my own business there. I always had a desire to return to my roots and build a home back there for when I retired. I had been single for a few years and upon returning home for a school reunion in 2008, I met an old friend that I had not seen in over 30 years. She had retired and moved "back home" the end of 2007. We started dating and before long we realized we were meant to be together. That is when I got busy on house plans. I looked at "many" house plans, but kept going back to this particular one of yours. We both agreed this was the perfect one. It had plenty of open space and was laid out just the way we wanted. We like the master bedroom with the large bath and walk-in closet (which we changed to one big closet instead of his and hers)and the other bedrooms on the other end of the house. My favorite parts of this house plan are the open space in the living area, and the really functional floorplan layout. It fits our needs perfectly... We started clearing the land in February, 2009, and we were married in March. We had a very good builder and things just fell right into place. All the lumber in the house came off my land. We made a few minor changes, such as extending the front bedroom out and the porch a few feet wider. The plans were so easily followed, the builder had no problem at all. We made the 3 1/2 hour trip weekly from Charlotte to help work on the house. On December 23, 2009, we moved in and spent our first Christmas together in our dream house. The house sits upon a hill that overlooks the Smokey Mountains and we can see as far as Tennessee. I am retiring soon and we look forward to sitting on our porch and enjoying the view and our new home. Thanks for allowing us to use your plan and we would highly recommend your company to anyone interested!
